Vehicle lending.
iloan New Zealand – Vehicle Lending Scope of Service – March 2026.
1. What does our Vehicle Finance Division do?
The vehicle finance division of iloan New Zealand (“we”, “us”, “our”) helps you to find loans to purchase a vehicle. We are not a lender and under this service we are not providing financial advice to you. What we do is ask you about the loan you are seeking (for example, the amount and term you prefer) and confirm whether we think you’re likely to be approved by a lender (auto-approval). We then help you to make compliant loan applications and to complete the application process. We explain how that works below.
2. What does Our Vehicle Finance Division do?
Once we confirm your auto-approval we will:
Assist you to complete and submit loan applications to lenders.
Explain the features and details of a lender offers to you (for example, loan term (length), interest rate, fees, and estimated repayments).
Talk with lenders on your behalf to help progress your application.
Provide you with copies of relevant documents (such as loan agreements and disclosure documents) supplied by the lender.
We do not assess whether any loan is suitable or appropriate for you (lenders will assess that) or give you advice on:
Which lender you should use
Whether the loan is affordable for you (lenders check that)
Which loan structure, term, amount, or interest type you should select
Whether you should or should not enter into any loan
Budgeting, debt management, or long-term financial planning
Tax, legal, or accounting matters
Guarantee that any application for a loan will be approved by a lender or that the loan will be made by the lender.
Guarantee any particular interest rate, fees, or conditions (these are set by the lender and may change before final approval).
3. Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
Deciding whether to apply for a loan and whether to accept any loan a lender offers.
Carefully reading and understanding all loan agreements and other documents provided by the lender.
Seeking independent advice if you need help understanding whether a loan is right for you, including:
Financial advice from a financial adviser
Legal advice from a lawyer
Tax advice from an accountant or tax specialist
Providing complete, accurate and up-to-date information in your application, and letting us know as soon as possible if there are any significant changes after you make the application. Lenders will rely on this information when deciding whether to offer you credit.
4. Our Panel of Lenders and How We Are Paid
We work with a panel of vehicle lenders with respect to specific types of loans (which are not all lenders or loans available in the market). We receive commissions, fees, or other benefits from lenders when your loan is approved and used by you. These are paid by the lender, not you. Any fees we may charge you will be disclosed to you in writing before you enter into any loan.
5. About the carfinder service
If you take out a loan through our services we’ll refer you to a carfinder service (CF Service) that will help you to find your dream car at no additional cost to you. The CF Service is not our agent, and we don’t supervise or manage the CF Service. You’ll have a separate contract with the CF Service for the services they provide. We have no responsibility or liability whatsoever, and howsoever arising, for the acts, omissions, services or advice of the CF Service, or in relation to any vehicle you purchase through the CF Service.
6. Information about our cashcard
Once your loan is approved by the lender and ready to use, we’ll load your loan amount directly onto a digital card that sits in your phone's Apple or Google wallet, the “cashcard”. We do not guarantee that a car dealer will accept the cashcard as being enough evidence that you have the money needed to buy the car. The cashcard stores your loan information only and reflects the loan terms & conditions offered by the lender. Your cashcard is not a credit card or a cash amount, and cannot be converted into cash. You will need to contact the iloan to activate the loan- information on how to do that are on the cashcard. Loan drawdown is subject to the lender approval under the terms of the loan. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the cashcard can be downloaded, or that it will be available, fully functional or error free at all times.
7. Privacy and Use of Your Information
We will collect, use, disclose and store your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
