Important Information About Our Services
Last updated: 15 August 2026
iloan NZ Licensing information
iloan NZ Limited (FSP1010485), trading as iloan™, is a Financial Advice Provider (FAP) holding a Class 2 licence issued and regulated by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) to provide financial advice, effective 11 December 2025.
About our services
iloan NZ Limited operates two separate services. It is important to understand which service applies to you, as your rights and our obligations differ between them.
1. Regulated Financial Advice Service
We are licensed to provide regulated financial advice on mortgage and consumer credit products through our qualified Financial Adviser. Under this service, your adviser will assess your individual goals, circumstances and needs, and make a personalised recommendation. The duties, protections and disclosure obligations described in this document apply to you when you receive our regulated financial advice service.
2. Vehicle Finance Facilitation Service
We also operate a vehicle finance facilitation service that helps clients access vehicle finance through our lender panel. This service is not regulated financial advice. We do not assess your individual circumstances or make personalised recommendations under this service. It is governed by separate terms and conditions available on our website at www.iloannz.com. The duties and protections described in this disclosure do not apply to this service.
If you are unsure which service applies to you, please contact us before proceeding.
Nature and scope of the advice
The following information relates to our Regulated Financial Advice Service only.
Our qualified Financial Adviser provides regulated financial advice on the following products:
· Residential mortgages
· Personal loans
We source and arrange lending from a panel of New Zealand banks and non-bank lenders, accessed through our aggregator Finsure New Zealand Limited.
Limitations of our advice
Our regulated financial advice service covers residential mortgages and personal loans only. We do not provide regulated financial advice on vehicle finance, asset finance, insurance products, investment products, KiwiSaver or retirement planning. We are also unable to provide legal or tax advice.
If you require assistance in any of these areas, we recommend you seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional.
We are unable to give you advice on the use of KiwiSaver or retirement funds to fund your home purchase. If you plan to use these funds as part of your purchase, we recommend you seek advice from a Financial Adviser who specialises in investment planning.
Fees or expenses
The following fees relate to our Regulated Financial Advice Service.
iloan NZ Limited does not normally charge clients fees for the financial advice we provide. However, a fee may be charged in certain circumstances, including:
· if through our advice you require a loan from a lender who does not pay us a commission — a fee of $250 + GST per hour will apply;
· if there are complexities with your loan application (such as credit impairments or a complex loan structure) — a fee of $250 + GST per hour will apply;
· if you obtain a loan approval through our advice and subsequently decide to proceed with another lender or adviser, a fee of up to $3,000 may be charged to reflect the professional services rendered and the lost commission opportunity;
· if you take out a loan through our advice and cancel or refinance it within 28 months, we will charge you a cancellation fee equivalent to the commission the lender requires us to repay. An indicative clawback amount will be disclosed to you at the time advice is given.
Any applicable fee will always be disclosed to you and your agreement obtained before it is charged. Fees are payable within 30 days of the date of invoice.
You will also need to pay fees to other parties involved in finalising your loan. These may include lawyers, valuers and building inspectors. Any lender fees will be set out in your letter of offer.
Fees applicable to our Vehicle Finance Facilitation Service are set out separately in the terms and conditions for that service, available on our website at www.iloannz.com.
Conflicts of interest and commissions
The following information relates to our Regulated Financial Advice Service only.
Our adviser is a shareholder of iloan NZ Limited. Our adviser is eligible to receive a bonus or incentive based on overall performance assessed through the company’s performance review process.
However, this bonus is not significant in relation to the adviser’s remuneration. These incentives are determined based on many factors including compliance with company policies, good conduct, and performance against key performance indicators — not solely on the volume of loans arranged.
Commissions are paid by lenders to Finsure New Zealand Limited (our aggregator), who then passes a portion to iloan NZ Limited under a separate Introducer Agreement. The amount of commission iloan NZ Limited receives depends on the lender and the loan amount.
Typically, iloan NZ Limited receives an upfront commission of between 0.40% and 0.90% of the loan amount. We may also receive an annual ongoing (trail) commission for every year the loan remains in place. We will provide more specific details of these commissions at the time our advice is given.
iloan NZ Limited uses Finsure New Zealand Limited as its aggregator to access a panel of lenders and to process loan applications. Finsure provides administrative lodgement and support services to iloan NZ Limited. This is an administrative arrangement and does not require us to place any minimum volume of business with any particular lender.
Finsure New Zealand Limited provides our adviser with access to application lodgement systems and administrative support services through the aggregator relationship.
To ensure our advisers prioritise our clients’ interests:
· We follow an advice process that ensures our recommendations are made appropriately, based on clients’ goals and circumstances.
· All our advisers undergo ongoing training and professional development to maintain competence and manage conflicts of interest.
· We maintain registers of conflicts of interest and the gifts and incentives we receive. These registers are monitored regularly, and additional training is provided as required.
· We undertake an annual independent Compliance Assurance Review by Strategi.
